The boy with the chemicals

Ran for cover in the pouring rain,
You pressed up close like we wouldn’t get this night back again
“But we will, every single time.”
Said the boy with the chemicals,
You’re the girl who makes me stable, so…
Let me in to avoid collapse
I’ll have kiss and then I’ll take you back…

I’m the best lover when I’m comatose,
I’m discovering weaknesses that everybody already knows,
“So who’s to blame? This time we are crossing off names”
Said the boy with the chemicals,
You’re the girl who makes it special, so…
It’s already reached Granite Bay,
Leaves us wishing for better days…

We’re islands….
It’s already reached Granite Bay
Leaves us wishing for better days.

Pangaea

I’m weary and starved from the way it was left
You called me a friend then called it your best
From the report of this failure, you barely made clear
I can’t find the words but it’s all my head
And you whispered under your breath
Like you were gasping for answers

Who’s to blame for this collapse?
Who’s to blame for breaking up Pangaea?
We’re islands drifting in and out of consciousness
It leaves us wishing for better days.

Your twisting your hair coz there’s not much to say
And In the static we’ve found our separate ways
But we’ll always be scarred from what could have been
So hunny, let’s move on from this ironic design
That seems to repeat itself
Like we were stuck in this song.

For Kym (Wedding Poem)

Friendship founded what we have now become,
It’s often said ‘love’ is two souls living as one.
An insight of truth whispers through the leaves-
A kiss, a moment, remember to breathe.
A season followed, a season passed,
Now we are here, here at last.
Constellations align into focus,
With eyes so bright, take time to notice,
In that same ground where the angels tread
Our knees will rest and we’ll eternally wed,
Then no matter what time, or the unexpected may bring,
We’ll be forever encircled by eternity’s wings,
I’ll see your face glow with light and virtue
And I’ll hold out my hand, like I always do,
We’ll walk through the gardens to approach the throne,
To see the place where love was first known,
With that same love etched into our hearts,
We’ll all rejoice that it took us so far,
So far beyond any stretch of imagination,
So much deeper and warmer than any sunburst ocean,
You are my true love, you are my queen,
I’ll cherish you always, in every degree.

Obituaries

You bled into the night, (and made your bed, by the ocean)
And in your casual way, said goodbye
To everything, you claim you never loved…
The Berlin wall was built around your heart
And it was just too tall, for anyone to climb

Will you ever get… what you deserve?

Coz let me tell you…
It’s a bloody, cold day in hell
And I would sell my soul for an overcoat

Another family portrait falls from off the wall
Now a statistic, stored inside a file (documented)
You can mark my words; if this prolongs
It will be the rupture of our social scene

So let’s flood the airwaves, with this desperate plea
“Let the children sleep tonight, let them dream of being loved”

Coz let me tell you…
It’s a bloody cold day in hell
And I would sell my soul for an overcoat

Sometimes I pray to wake up dead
And sometimes I read the obituaries
(and dig up the dirt on you)
