Dying to kiss
The hour entices and leads us outside,
It’s getting colder but winter made us lovers after all.
Before, hands were reluctantly at our sides
We used to sing but wouldn’t call it a song,
Hoping to eventually fall
As our stares transformed into wants.
I remember dying to kiss
And wanting to stand still forever
I remember that “almost kiss”
And it never felt better.
Now our hands are clutching so tight
The air is dancing with your scent, so divine.
And I wish I had kissed you back then
But the moment is here once again
And it’s taken.
This room feels like summer inside,
The hours seem frozen like the windows
And I’m trapped in slow motion.
I swear oxygen needs you to breathe,
Like I need this to survive.
It’s getting colder but winter made us lovers after all.
Let’s sleep for awhile longer.
